Join Snap's CoreOS Camera team as an Embedded Engineer, Camera to push forward the capabilities of our hardware-software stack. You will design and implement camera software features for both prototype and shipping consumer products, and build robust tools to validate camera hardware and software behavior throughout the product lifecycle. You will participate in design reviews and code reviews with peers and stakeholders, triage issues, and collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering teams across multiple offices.

We're looking for a Embedded Engineer, Camera to join the CoreOS Camera team here at Specs!
 

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implementation of camera software features in both prototype and shipping consumer products 

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust software tools for validating camera hardware and software behavior throughout the product lifecycle

  • Conduct design reviews and code review with peers and stakeholders to create reliable solutions

  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues 

  • Collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Hands on experience developing production camera stack software

  • Ability to craft scalable solutions in a resource constraint environment with due considerations for memory, power, thermal tradeoffs

  • Excellent analytical, programming and debugging skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent years of experience

  • 4+ years of experience with embedded software development and ARM architecture

  • Experience with RTOS development and embedded Linux

  • Proficiency programming in C/C++

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: camera sensor hardware, ISPs, imaging

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as computer science or electrical engineering

  • Experience with the Qualcomm camera software stack (CamX/chi-cdk)
