We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist, Technology Auditor II to join the Cyber Security team on our Technology team within Internal Audit. This role is in New York, New York or Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Performs basic audit tasks under supervision, gaining exposure to audit processes and procedures.
- Begins to learn and understand audit policies, methodologies, and standards relevant to the organization.
- May be expected to develop specialized skills over time, depending on the focus area (such as information technology, cyber, artificial intelligence, etc.).
- Assists in testing business, operational, and other processes, primarily on lower-risk projects and assignments.
- Starts to learn business strategies, processes, and regulations through on-the-job training and relevant courses.
- Demonstrates newly acquired knowledge and skills by analyzing business processes, identifying issues, and participating in team discussions.
- Works to build credibility by maintaining clear and accurate documentation, completing tasks efficiently, and learning new concepts quickly.
- Develops a foundational understanding of data analytics, technology, regulatory environments, and project management as they relate to technology and cyber audit functions.
- Participate in team communication and relationship-building with project leaders, colleagues, and clients while learning about business and audit controls.
- Respects the confidentiality of information and uses it appropriately.
- Begins to develop communication skills, including how to explain complex concepts in a clear manner.
- Applies judgment to analyze information and supports problem-solving within the team.
- No direct reports: role focused on the quality and accuracy of individual contributions.
- Understands team goals and works collaboratively to achieve them.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required; all majors considered.
- Relevant coursework or experience in accounting, finance, business, information systems, mathematics, or related professional certificates is a plus.
- 0-1 years of work or internship experience preferred but not required.
- Prior exposure to audit or related areas is helpful, but not mandatory.
- Core skills include critical thinking, problem solving, and willingness to learn.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $52,000 and $65,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
