Role Purpose

The Cyber Security Professional will provide expert support to the Wells organization in managing and enhancing cyber security for automation systems. This role ensures compliance with corporate cyber security standards and mitigates risks associated with industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Cyber Security Governance: Support the Cyber Security lead SPA in implementing and maintaining cyber security policies for automation systems and ensure alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments for ICS/OT environments, identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • System Security Management: Oversee patching, hardening, and configuration management for automation systems; monitor and respond to cyber security incidents affecting Wells automation systems.
  • User Administration & Management: Manage user accounts and access controls for automation systems; ensure proper identity and privilege management in line with security policies.
  • Metrics & KPI Management: Maintain cyber security metrics and KPI data up to date; provide regular reporting to stakeholders on performance and compliance status.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Maintain documentation for audits and compliance checks; support periodic reviews and testing of security controls.
  • Collaboration & Advisory: Work closely with Wells engineering and technology teams and vendors to embed security in system design and operations; provide technical guidance on cyber security best practices for automation systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience in ICS/OT cyber security within oil & gas or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and corporate cyber security frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with Wells operations and drilling automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA).
  • Experience in vulnerability management and incident response for OT environments.
