Role Description
- Controls Testing & Assurance (CT&A) is part of Compliance & AFC and acts as an independent, global testing unit within the Second Line of Defence.
- CT&A assesses the effectiveness of processes and controls related to Operational Risk, Compliance, and Anti-Financial Crime, as well as the implementation of regulatory requirements across all divisions in Deutsche Bank AG. The ORM Testing teams are a newly established unit within CT&A, responsible for testing activities covering the risk types owned by Operational Risk Management (ORM).

Your key responsibilities
- As part of the ORM Testing team, you cover a broad range of Operational Risk types, including Theft & Fraud, Employee Lifecycle, Records & Data Management, Business Continuity & Physical Safety, Risk Management Failure, and Third Party Risk.
- You support the planning, coordination, and execution of testing coverage and take the lead on divisional or risk-specific reviews.
- You work independently on assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment. As part of your reviews, you develop structured testing approaches in line with defined methodologies and timelines.
- You discuss and agree findings as well as remediating actions with stakeholders and senior management, validate implementation, and escalate overdue findings where required.
- By being part of the testing team covering the aforementioned risk types you are contributing to strengthening the cross-divisional control environment and risk culture. In addition to performing reviews, you are supporting the team via interactions with other global testing teams and participating in CT&A initiatives.
Your skills and experience
- Degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, or other testing and control functions; regulatory knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand complex matters and processes, identify key risk aspects, and draw sound and well‑reasoned conclusions. Experience in the conceptual development of testing methodologies and controls is desirable.
- Structured working style with high ownership and the ability to work effectively in a global, virtual team.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the proactive management of working relationships, conflicts, and escalations, as well as a clear, goal‑oriented, and confident communication style; very strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Fluent English.
