Drive the security of Docusign’s products and customers by conducting penetration tests, red team exercises, and vulnerability research. Perform in-depth security assessments, identify weaknesses, and propose effective remediation strategies with root-cause analysis. Ensure timely incident management and escalation, communicating findings clearly to engineers and stakeholders, and collaborate with PSIRT, Threat Intelligence, and cross-functional teams to strengthen the product security posture. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Offensive Security, with opportunities to mentor other engineers and influence security best practices.

What you'll do You will play a critical role in protecting Docusign’s products and customers by participating in penetration testing and vulnerability research efforts. You will conduct in-depth security assessments of our products and services, identify potential weaknesses, and propose effective remediation strategies. Your expertise will help ensure timely communication of findings, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of our security posture. You will partner with engineering teams and PSIRT to drive security best practices. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Offensive Security. Responsibility Drive success of the company’s security objectives by participating in offensive security testing efforts, including penetration tests, red team exercises, and security research Work with PSIRT to analyze product security issues, in collaboration with engineering, and drive them to resolution Ensure timely, compliant, and effective incident management, from initial triage through remediation and closure Communicate professionally and responsively with stakeholders throughout the evaluation lifecycle Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Threat Intelligence and PSIRT, to strengthen overall product security posture Mentor other engineers on the team Job Designation Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time. Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law. What you bring Basic 8+ years experience (6+ with a Master’s degree) in security research, red teaming or penetration testing experience including on web application security Experience in exploit development Experience with cybersecurity principles, incident response lifecycles, and security best practices Experience with CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) for rating vulnerabilities, MITRE ATTCK for adversary tactics and techniques, and CWE (Common Weakness Enumeration) for identifying and categorizing software weaknesses Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field Industry certifications such as OSCP, GXPN, OSEP, OSWA, OSWE, OSDA Experience with cloud, container, or network security testing Experience with AI security testing Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: California: $157,500.00 - $254,350.00 base salary Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $151,200.00 - $213,600.00 base salary Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $151,200.00 - $222,450.00 base salary Washington DC: $157,500.00 - $222,450.00 base salary Ohio: $131,900.00 - $186,275.00 base salary This role is also eligible for the following: Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance. Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
