This Software QA Specialist role focuses on testing Fortinet product suite using manual and automated approaches. Responsibilities include executing feature and bug fix testing, documenting defects, automating front-end tests, and working closely with developers to ensure fixes. You will set up, maintain and operate experimental and hot-test network systems. Requires 2+ years in QA or network engineering with Unix/Linux, TCP/IP, and firewall experience; based in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

This is a great new role for QA's to sink their teeth into the Fortinet product suite!

Job Responsibilities:

Execute feature and bug fix testing using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques and analyzing code.
Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing.
Automate front-end testing and other automation tools.
Work closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and fixed.
Set up, maintain and operate experimental and hot-test network systems

Skills Required:

2+ years of software quality assurance or network engineering experience in IT or related industry preferably in
routing/switching/network security fields.
Experience in Unix/Linux environment is a must
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, switching and routing is essential
Familiar with general system maintenance and troubleshooting, understanding of combination of software and different hardware components
Demonstrated ability to write clear and reproducible problem reports, and test results
Demonstrated knowledge of firewalls, Linux and packet capture utilities like Wireshark
Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills * Highly motivated and responsible quick learner
Familiar with system installations, configurations, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of at least one scripting language: Shell, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc
Background in cloud computing a plus

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $79,700 - $97,400 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
