Security Threat Analyst at ING Australia to lead security monitoring and vulnerability management across the region, providing full lifecycle oversight of threats and compliance posture. You’ll be part of the Security Detection & Response team, collaborating with global security experts and local technology stakeholders to detect threats and uplift security controls. The role involves monitoring security events, embedding security into the Agile SDLC, conducting threat modeling, and coordinating remediation with infrastructure and risk teams. Requires strong experience with SIEM, vulnerability and compliance scanning, and scripting for automation.

At ING Australia, you will have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture, and technology to become the best version of you.

ING Australia is searching for a Security Threat Analyst to play a pivotal role in protecting our cyber ecosystem across the region. In this high‑impact position, you’ll lead security monitoring and vulnerability management activities, providing full lifecycle oversight of threats, vulnerabilities and compliance posture.

As a key member of our Security Detection & Response team, you will collaborate closely with global security experts and local technology stakeholders to detect emerging threats, manage risks, and uplift our technical security controls.

If you’re ready to step into a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking security team and help strengthen ING’s cyber resilience, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do …

  • Monitor and investigate security events, responding to queries and escalations, and managing each event from detection through classification and closure.

  • Embed security into the Agile lifecycle by providing practical security advice throughout the system development process.

  • Conduct threat modelling and identify emerging technology risks, security trends, vulnerabilities, and potential threats.

  • Manage Security Monitoring tasks independently, prioritizing work and backlogs in line with team and organizational objectives.

  • Oversee vulnerability and compliance activities, including monitoring advisories, ensuring full scan coverage, and tracking vulnerabilities with infrastructure teams.

  • Collaborate across risk, audit, technology and global security teams to maintain compliance, remediate weaknesses, tune policies, and support operational monitoring.

What we’re looking for...

  • 4+ years in security monitoring technologies, including SIEM platforms and enterprise logging tools.

  • Experienced with vulnerability and compliance scanning solutions (Nessus, Tenable, Prisma, or WIZ) with a solid understanding of remediation workflows.

  • Strong technical foundation across Windows/Linux servers and network infrastructure, including firewalls, proxies, and switching technologies.

  • Handson scripting capability in Python, PowerShell or Bash to automate tasks, analyze data, or support operational security functions.

  • Excellent stakeholderengagement skills and work independently with a proactive, cando mindset.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance.

  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing.

  • An IMPACT Day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity.
