Jane Street is seeking an Identity Security Engineer to strengthen and secure access to their IT platforms, with a focus on hybrid Windows environments and Microsoft cloud services. The role involves hands-on technical work and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement security controls, identify gaps, and drive cloud adoption securely. You will provide technical leadership on EntraID/M365/Azure tooling, automate scalable security practices, and influence remediation priorities across the Windows estate.

About the position

We are looking for an Identity Security Engineer with a strong background in engineering hybrid Windows platforms to join our growing team. The Jane Street IT Security team is dedicated to securing access to Jane Street’s IT platforms. You will play a crucial role in furthering the security posture of the organisation through a combination of technical hands-on work and collaboration with cross-functional engineers to drive transformational security projects.

Additional responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Acting as a technical security resource, providing expertise regarding EntraID, M365, Azure tooling and security best practices
  • Implementing and leading the validation of appropriate security controls designed to mitigate and limit an attack path(s) between on-prem and externally hosted platforms
  • Identifying security gaps and proposing operational enhancements to adhere to our security standards
  • Providing technical leadership and cross-functional influence to technology teams looking to enable relevant cloud adoption

We’re looking for someone who is ready to make an immediate impact and is able to prioritise their workload in a fast-moving environment. This role is not just executional; we’ll rely on you to determine where we focus our remediation and mitigation efforts for our Windows estate. Your good judgement and quick thinking will help drive decision-making that will have a widespread effect across the firm.

About you

  • Have a solid foundation in Microsoft security policies and configurations spanning Microsoft cloud services (SaaS/PaaS), IAM and Privilege Access Management domains
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of industry-standard SSO technologies and authentication methods (OpenID Connect, SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, LDAP, etc.)
  • Have designed, implemented and supported Microsoft security infrastructure in production environments
  • Issued security recommendations surrounding certificate policies, templates, and key sizes to maintain secure cryptographic standards
  • Have managed and secured Azure resources using a code-driven approach
  • Eager to produce scalable and repeatable security practices through automation including certificate enrollment and renewals lifecycles
  • Fluent in English
