Director - People Engineering (SRE & Contingent Workforce Systems)
Role Overview
We are seeking a technology leader to head a multi-disciplinary People Engineering team passionate about service reliability and external workforce systems, ensuring the secure, reliable, and auditable delivery of core People technology platforms.
These capabilities underpin critical organisational operations, including:
Core People platforms (including Workday and adjacent services)
External Workforce Management via VNDLY
Identity, access management, and security controls across People systems
Application support, service continuity, and incident management
Audit, compliance, and regulatory assurance for People Products
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Technology Ownership
Lead end-to-end technology ownership for VNDLY, covering security, integrations, vendor management, audit readiness, and operational support.
Own the security, control, and assurance architecture across People technology platforms.
Ensure platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Operational Excellence
Act as the senior authority for sophisticated operational, security, and audit issues.
Drive strong application support, service continuity, incident resolution, and performance stability.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop the People Engineering operations and assurance team—improving efficiency, quality, and operational confidence.
Partner closely with Product Owners and Engineering leaders to embed product-led, outcome-focused ways of working, while maintaining platform integrity.
Required Skills & Experience
Deep expertise in Workday HCM within complex global environments.
Strong understanding of Workday architecture, security configuration, business processes, and security frameworks.
Experience with External Workforce Management platforms, ideally VNDLY.
Proven ability to translate business needs into platform features and outcomes.
Experience across HR domains such as Talent Acquisition, Employee Lifecycle Management, and Core HR.
Hands-on experience with Workday configuration, security management, and product testing.
Strong stakeholder influence skills with ability to handle HR, Technology, and Operations leadership globally.
Demonstrated leadership with ability to scale engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries.
Background in large-scale HR tech transformations or digital modernization initiatives.
Strong vendor management and strategic supplier relationship experience.
