Join Microsoft Defender Identity Security as a Principal Product Manager leading the strategy and roadmap for identity protection at scale. You will translate customer needs into a prioritized backlog and product requirements for admins and security personas, partnering with multiple teams to deliver innovative, secure, and scalable solutions. You will drive technical excellence, leverage automation and AI, and define KPIs to measure success through data-driven decisions. This is an individual contributor role in a fast-growing area within Microsoft's XDR platform, requiring strong collaboration across security, engineering, and business teams.

Overview

Microsoft Defender Identity Security is a system that provides detection and for advanced identity related attacks. It is designed to identify intrusion attempts and assist in rapid response to security events related to identities. Defender Identity Security uses machine learning to analyze user behavior and identify abnormal activities that may be dangerous, with sensors installed on the organization's Active Directory and other information sources. The system is part of Microsoft's XDR platform responsible for identity protection. The system operates at a high scale with thousands of customers and protection of over 100 million identities to date, with significant growth every quarter. The team consists of 5 product managers, and we are looking to recruit experienced product managers to take part in the challenging process of expanding MDI to the next stages



Responsibilities

This Individual contributor role will require you to work across multiple teams with focus on following responsibilities:

Customer focus: In this role, the Product Manager will work with internal and external customers on understanding/anticipating their needs and identify differentiated integration & innovation opportunities to solve the problems and delight the customers.

Product Definition: The Product manager will convert customer requirements into crisp, prioritized product roadmap that bring intuitive, efficient experiences for the admin and security persona, The PM will own the backlog, specifications with clear objectives and key results to measure success.

Collaboration: The Product Manager will identify and own problems and collaborate with partner teams to solve them. The PM will be expected to create an inclusive environment that brings a diverse set of ideas to the table to deliver innovative, high quality, timely solutions to the problems.

Technical Excellence: The Product Manager is responsible for working with engineering ensuring that the product truth is grounded in technical excellence. The PM will be expected to continuously identify opportunities for leveraging automation and AI at scale to help meet/exceed the scale, performance, security, reliability, operational efficiency goals for the service and business.

Data Driven Decisions: The Product Manager will be responsible for defining KPIs, ensuring every aspect of the service is instrumented and delve deep into the data to identify key insights and drive decisions based on them.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, product/technical program management, product development, security, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience as a security product manager in B2B companies.
  • Ability to collaborate with Persuade skills work as a team and with stakeholders across the globe.
  • Experience working with Security teams, product groups and operational teams.
  • Experience analyzing products, identifying potential security risks, and prioritizing security research/development.
  • Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including communicating effectively with different business groups and project teams.
