Manage the investigation and remediation of data incidents affecting PwC UK, coordinating across teams to gather facts, contain issues, and drive remediation. Analyse incident trends, improve incident response processes and detection capabilities, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role:

The Data Incident team is responsible for managing the investigation and remediation of all data incidents caused by or impacting PwC UK. The Data Incident team will work closely with teams across the business to gather facts, coordinate remediation, and issue guidance in response to data incidents. When not managing active incidents, the Data Incident team will present narrative and incident trend analysis to senior stakeholders; providing transparency of the current risk landscape and driving for changes to reduce incident occurrence.

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance security, our improved detection processes have led to an increased number of identified incidents, enabling us to address issues swiftly and efficiently. Additionally, with technology continually evolving, we are encountering more complex incidents requiring innovative solutions. We are committed to adapting our strategies to effectively safeguard PwC UK's data and reputation.

What your days will look like:

We are seeking a proactive and innovative individual to tackle complex data incident challenges. You will collaborate across diverse teams to manage and remediate incidents effectively, ensuring our data and reputation are protected. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the investigation and resolution of data incidents, applying strategic approaches to mitigate risks.

  • Develop and implement processes to streamline incident response and improve future detection capabilities.

  • Communicate trends and insights to senior stakeholders, offering recommendations to prevent recurrence.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of our incident response processes, adapting quickly to emerging threats and technologies.

This role is for you if:

  • Investigate and respond to reported data incidents swiftly to minimise impact and protect sensitive information.

  • Manage and oversee the response to detected data leakage.

  • Collaborate with teams across the firm to ensure comprehensive remediation and support during incidents.

  • Analyse incident trends to identify root causes and recommend proactive measures.

  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, presenting incident analysis and risk assessments.

  • Establish and maintain incident response protocols, enhancing organisational readiness.

  • Foster a culture of security awareness across the organisation through training and engagement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in all incident response activities.

  • Experience in a cybersecurity-related role, ideally with an understanding of compliance, data protection issues, risk management, and security best practices.

  • Detail oriented, ensuring the details of an incident are regularly updated and are worked to thorough completion.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
