The Privacy Team at PwC is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Manager to oversee and implement data protection policies and strategies across the firm. The role involves advising business teams on compliance, conducting DPIAs and risk assessments, and reviewing new technologies for privacy impacts. You will draft and update internal policies, support breach response and data subject requests, and provide contractual data protection advice. Experience with data protection certifications (e.g. CIPP/E) and familiarity with emerging legislation and AI technologies is preferred.
What your days will look like:
- Providing accurate, appropriate, timely and pragmatic data protection advice, striking a balance between legal/regulatory requirements and the wider interests of the business
- Conducting comprehensive data protection impact assessments, including data protection risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and transfer impact assessments
- Assessing new technologies (often processing large scale special category data) for data protection compliance
- Drafting and updating internal policies and procedures
- Providing data protection advice on personal data breach mitigation
- Responding to data subject rights requests
- Advising on data protection contractual negotiations
This role is for you if:
- you hold a Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E), BCS/ISEB Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification (CIPP/E), BCS/ISEB
- you have professional experience advising on data protection and privacy matters
- you have a detailed understanding of current and emerging data protection legislation, case law and updates
- you thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment with the ability to handle a varied workload
- you are highly motivated and confident to work independently, but with support from more experienced subject matter experts where required
- you have experience in new AI Technologies (preferred not essential)
