The CyberSecurity Analyst will contribute to the success of the Security Platforms Engineering Onboarding and Delivery team by ensuring execution of specific goals and compliance with policies. The role involves incident response, maintaining production systems, log management, and collaboration across security teams. It requires knowledge of operating systems, cloud platforms, network protocols, scripting, and analytics tools.

Purpose Contributes to the overall success of the Onboarding and Delivery Team in the Security Platforms Engineering Department in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities - Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Work collaboratively within a team of security professionals and across the organization in matters of security, logging, and custody of security events and troubleshooting. - Respond to incidents; resolve, triage, or escalate as appropriate to meet and exceed SLA metrics. - Support and maintain key production systems, ensuring 7/24 availability. - Document and keep comprehensive records of log sources, configurations, analysis procedures, troubleshooting and incident reports. - Provide input to management reporting including executive summaries, condition status reporting, statistics, and action item tracking. - Knowledge of various Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400 and so on. - Familiarity with cloud platforms used by the organization (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and their logging and monitoring services. - Understanding of network protocols and the ability to analyze network logs, such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and DNS logs. OSI Model understanding. - Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate log parsing, analysis, and response activities. - Knowledge of Office 365 tools (e.g., Power automate, Sharepoint, Planner). - Familiarity with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Anaconda. - Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Actively pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of business controls to meet obligations regarding operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Champions a high performance and inclusive work environment. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Position: Cybersecurity Analyst, Security Platforms Engineering - Onboarding and Delivery Reporting Relationships: Primary Manager: Senior Manager for Security Platforms Engineering - Onboarding and Delivery Direct Reports: Leader for Security Platforms Engineering Onboarding and Delivery Dimensions: - Team consists of 7 members responsible for Log Collection and onboarding. - Team is responsible for log collection for all of Scotiabank. - Team is responsible for log hygiene and enhancement. Education / Experience / Other Information: - University degree or college diploma in a computer-related discipline. - Operating System Knowledge: familiarity with various Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, AIX, AS400 and so on. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their logging and monitoring services. - Understanding of network protocols and ability to analyze network logs, such as firewall, IDS/IPS, and DNS logs. OSI Model knowledge. - Desirable knowledge: scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell. - Familiarity with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Anaconda.
