As part of AMD's Server Performance Group, you will influence the performance architecture of next-generation AMD datacenter processors to accelerate Cloud and AI workloads. You will collaborate with silicon design teams, co-optimize with cloud and AI customers, and develop performance models in pre-silicon and post-silicon evaluation environments. You will lead projects, drive new performance features, and help optimize AMD's EPYC and Instinct product portfolio for scalable datacenter workloads. Strong communication, mentorship, and broad knowledge of server system architecture and software stacks are essential.

THE ROLE: As part of the AMD Server Performance Group, you will influence the performance architecture of next-generation AMD products to accelerate Cloud and AI Datacenter workloads . This team drives system performance over the lifetime of AMD Datacenter systems. To enable industry-leading AMD EPYC and Instinct systems, you will collaborate with the silicon design teams and co-optimize with the largest companies in the Cloud and AI computing industries. THE PERSON: You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through technical publications, presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc. You are highly adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and engineers alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you. A strong candidate will have experience with the performance analysis of Server system architecture and the related software stacks. You will work in both pre-silicon design and post-silicon evaluation environments, include the development of performance models. As a senior member of the technical team, you’ll also be leading projects and driving innovations that are critical to AMD’s Datacenter business segment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Characterization and modeling of cutting-edge Cloud & AI applications Exploring opportunities to improve server system performance through hardware and/or software optimization Driving and enabling new performance features for AMD products and systems Collaborating with other AMD architects on novel processor and system designs Working with AMD's business team on performance of our product portfolio Working with customers to optimize our system design for their workloads PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Background in performance analysis and/or workload characterization Experience developing and designing with processor performance models Extensive experience in processor micro-architecture and computer architecture Knowledge of system architecture including CPU, GPU, cache, interconnect, memory, I/O, and accelerator subsystems Familiarity with performance-critical Datacenter workloads and Cloud services History of developing code, scripts, and/or applications ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Master's or PhD degree in computer and/or electrical engineering preferred. #LI-MR1 #LI-Hybrid Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
