Join Amazon's Central Strategy and Operations Analytics team as a Business Intelligence Engineer II, helping sales and partner enablement by turning data into actionable insights. Deliver clear, timely reporting on key business trends and design, build, and maintain core metrics, dashboards, and analyses to support day-to-day decisions and long-term planning. Partner with data scientists to support descriptive and predictive models, translate model outputs into scalable datasets and dashboards, and own data pipelines ensuring data quality and documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across tech, science, sales, marketing, and finance to drive high analytics standards for advertising customers.
Key job responsibilities
1) Deliver clear, timely reporting on key business trends, applying statistical rigor to surface insights and simplify complex data for broad audiences.
2) Design, build, and maintain core metrics, dashboards, and recurring analyses that support day-to-day decision making and long-term planning.
3) Respond quickly and thoughtfully to high-priority analytical requests from senior business leaders, balancing speed with data quality and accuracy.
4) Partner with data scientists to support the development, validation, and operationalization of descriptive and predictive models.
5) Translate model logic and outputs into scalable datasets, metrics, and dashboards that can be reliably consumed by business and operational teams.
6) Own and monitor data pipelines that enable model training, scoring, and performance tracking over time.
7) Ensure data quality and documentation standards across reporting and modeling workflows, proactively identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
A day in the life
You will work in one of the complex data environments and will innovate on behalf of our advertising customers. You will bring data together to answer business questions and guide our businesses by pushing the boundaries of data analytics and science to solve analytics problems in a fast-moving environment. You will collaborate with internal partners from tech, science, sales, marketing, finance, and other cross-functional teams to deliver successfully against high organizational standards.
About the team
Central Strategy and Operations Analytics team is looking for a talented and driven Business Intel Engineers who can extract meaning from large volumes of data to make the right business decisions. You will leverage your passion for BI to seek out and structure data to propel our insights and analytics capabilities forward. You will work closely with senior leaders to understand their information needs and then build scalable solutions to deliver the key insights to make business decisions.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
- 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
- 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience
- 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
