Join Amazon's India Machine Learning team as a Business Intelligence Engineer, building and operating data systems to support one of the world’s most complex and rapidly scaling supply chains. You will work with large-scale datasets, AWS tools like Redshift, and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and timeliness for high-impact decisions. You’ll leverage data visualization and statistical methods to model business metrics, influence profitability, and drive improvements across Amazon Business. This role blends data engineering, analytics, and ML-focused problem solving in a fast-growing India-centric business unit.
Machine Learning, Big Data and related quantitative sciences have been strategic to Amazon from the early years. Amazon has been a pioneer in areas such as recommendation engines, ecommerce fraud detection and large-scale optimization of fulfillment center operations. As Amazon has rapidly grown and diversified, the opportunity for applying machine learning has exploded. We have a very broad collection of practical problems where machine learning systems can dramatically improve the customer experience, reduce cost, and drive speed and automation. These include product bundle recommendations for millions of products, safeguarding financial transactions across by building the risk models, improving catalog quality via extracting product attribute values from structured/unstructured data for millions of products, enhancing address quality by powering customer suggestions

Key job responsibilities
As a BIE within INML, you will build and operate data systems that support one of the world’s most complex and rapidly scaling supply chains. You will work daily with large-scale distributed datasets, AWS technologies such as Redshift, and cross-functional teams to ensure that our data is accurate, timely, compliant, and ready to power high-impact decisions across Amazon Business.
About the team
International Machine Learning Team is responsible for building novel ML solutions that attack India first (and other Emerging Markets across MENA and LatAm) problems and impact the bottom-line and top-line of India business. Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
