Join the Amazon Smart Vehicles data engineering team to build and maintain data pipelines that deliver analysis-ready and production-grade datasets from diverse sources. You will design canonical tables and metrics used by product, science, and leadership teams, and navigate complex data infrastructure to enable reliable modeling and decision-making. The role emphasizes data quality, monitoring, and proactive collaboration, with opportunities to automate repetitive work and influence the team’s technical direction. You will work across the full data engineering lifecycle, delivering trusted datasets and dashboards for stakeholders worldwide.

Amazon Smart Vehicles builds the systems that power intelligent experiences inside vehicles. We work with some of the world's largest car manufacturers, and our data engineering team provides the foundation that makes those partnerships successful. We turn complex, multi-source data into the insights that drive product decisions, measure quality, and shape how we run this business.

In this role, you will build the data pipelines and prompt-ready, production-grade datasets that product leaders, scientists, engineers, and automotive partners rely on to make decisions. You will work across the full data engineering lifecycle, from tracing data lineage through unfamiliar systems to delivering canonical tables and dashboards that stakeholders trust. The problems are varied, the datasets are large, and the work is visible.

Your work will be shared with cross-company leadership to inform decisions on products reaching customers worldwide, so the bar for accuracy and reliability is high.

You might thrive in this role if you are comfortable working across many different problems, you like figuring things out end-to-end, and you enjoy turning complex data into something people can trust and act on. If you are curious about how modern tools can make your work more effective and you want your contributions to matter from day one, we would love to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines that deliver reliable, analysis-ready and prompt-ready datasets from diverse sources using SQL, Python, and AWS technologies
- Design canonical tables and metrics that product, science, and leadership teams depend on
- Navigate complex data infrastructure to find the right sources and make informed modeling decisions
- Ensure data quality and pipeline reliability through proactive validation, monitoring, and upstream collaboration
- Write clear documentation that enables stakeholders to self-serve
- Work directly with product managers, scientists, and engineers to turn data questions into reliable answers, with enough business context to know what matters and why
- Find opportunities to automate repetitive work and raise the bar on how the team builds and delivers data
- Contribute to the team's technical direction by evaluating new tools, frameworks, and approaches

A day in the life
Your day might start by designing a pipeline that captures how customers interact with technology inside a vehicle, or by working within privacy frameworks to determine what can be collected across on-device and cloud systems. You'll collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams on measurement strategy and build datasets that help evaluate product quality and customer experience. Some weeks are heads-down technical work. Others are about making sure a team has what they need to make a call. The domain is unique, and the data you build will be used in ways most engineers never get to see.

About the team
The Amazon Smart Vehicles data engineering team builds the infrastructure that supports how we measure, evaluate, and improve our automotive products. Our work informs decisions from launch readiness to long-term strategy. You will work alongside software engineers, scientists, product managers, and business leaders, often on problems that span multiple products and geographies. We value clarity, reliability, and curiosity. If you care about building data systems that people actually depend on, you will fit in here.
