As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer on the Under-the-Roof BI team, you will design and build end-to-end analytical agents, data models, pipelines, and semantic layers to enable reasoning over labor-planning data. You will define agentic architectures, sub-agents, and orchestration patterns for tasks like metric interpretation, attribution, anomaly detection, and automation, and partner with product, science, and engineering to translate ambiguous problems into scalable, automated, explainable analytics. The role requires strong SQL and scripting, experience with AWS analytics services (Redshift, QuickSight), and a track record of delivering decision-ready insights in complex production environments. A strong communicator with a builder mindset who thrives in ambiguity will excel.
UTR BI supports 9+ business lines across Amazon’s last-mile and fulfillment ecosystem. We are building analytical agents with conversational interfaces, lightweight applications, and automation-first experiences that help planners and operators ask better questions, get faster answers, and make higher-quality decisions. This role is central to that vision: building both the data foundation and the agentic architecture that powers these experiences.
As a Senior BIE, you will design and build analytical agents end-to-end, including defining agentic architectures, sub-agents, and orchestration patterns for tasks such as metric interpretation, attribution, anomaly detection, and workflow automation. You will own the underlying data models, pipelines, and semantic layers that enable agents to reason reliably over complex labor-planning data. You will partner closely with product, science, and engineering teams to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable, automated, and explainable analytical systems.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is passionate about automation and clean system design, and enjoys building from first principles. You will write high-quality SQL and scripts, define reusable analytical primitives, and work directly with customers to ensure agents deliver decision-ready insights. Success in this role requires strong communication, deep technical judgment, ownership, and a builder mindset.
If you’re excited about defining and building agent-powered analytics at Amazon scale starting from the data layer up, this is the role for you.
