Senior Business Analyst to innovate the data practice for Amazon's strategic supply chain product, based in Shanghai. Partners with stakeholders across product design, frontend sales, operations and finance to identify insights needs and build a plan to deliver this service successfully. Applies analytical and statistical methods to model complex problems, and develops metrics and dashboards (Tableau/Quicksight) to communicate insights to Ops/Sales/Product teams. Works with engineering to ensure proper data capture, storage, and tooling (SQL, Python/Perl) to enable data-driven decisions.
Key job responsibilities
As a Business Analyst with our team, you will help identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of supply chain network for the ultra-fast delivery programs. You will be responsible for modeling complex/abstract problems and discovering insights through the use of statistical and visualization techniques. Further, you will develop metrics and dashboards to communicate these insights to the Ops/Sales/Product teams.
The complexity of research and skills for this role is well beyond basic data entry and research. It involves complex analysis and diving deep into key metrics based on requests, building and maintaining multiple databases, knowledge of software applications to create tools, and understanding of multiple programming languages.
- Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.
- Manipulate/mine data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL) using SQL.
- Manipulate/mine data from log files by writing scripts (ex. PERL, Python, UNIX)
- Develop analytical tools: deep-dive tools, UIs, metrics, and dashboards (Tableau/Quicksight)
- Perform deep-dives and root cause analysis to answer business questions
- Effectively communicate (English written and verbal) solutions and methodologies to senior leadership
- Work with engineering teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of data.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company
