The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting database solutions that enable high‑quality data processing, secure storage, and seamless application performance. This role requires strong analytical ability, structured problem solving, and an aptitude for collaborating with cross‑functional technology teams.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:
Design, develop, and maintain MS SQL Server and Oracle database objects including tables, views, triggers, stored procedures, and functions.
Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
Work with application and infrastructure teams to support database‑related enhancements and troubleshoot complex data issues.
Implement and monitor backup/restore, database replication, partitioning, and high‑availability configurations.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform root cause analysis for production issues and drive long‑term fixes.
Support database deployments, patching, and upgrades across environments.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and solution architects to translate functional requirements into efficient database solutions.
Proactively identify technical improvements and contribute to database engineering best practices.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Proven experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases.
Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, performance optimization, query tuning, and debugging.
Solid understanding of database internal execution plans, indexing, partitioning, and locking mechanisms.
Hands‑on experience with backup/recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and database migration.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and supporting CI/CD‑enabled deployments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex data issues.
Excellent problem‑solving skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
Experience with data modelling, schema design, and database architecture principles. Exposure to cloud database services (Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, etc.).
Knowledge of data governance, security hardening, and regulatory compliance processes.
Strong communication.
High attention to detail with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
Ability to work independently and in collaborative team environments.

Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
