Join Morningstar's Managed Investment Data Team as a Data Relationship Manager to drive Morningstar data across the German, Swiss, and Austrian markets. You will be the primary liaison between the centralized data team and asset managers, showcasing data capabilities and capturing local market feedback. Based in Frankfurt, you will own onboarding new data sets, collaborate with product, sales, and support, and align data collection with market and regulatory needs (ESG, SFDR, Morningstar ratings). You will monitor market trends and competitor activity to keep Morningstar well positioned to seize opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role:

The Managed Investment Data Team requires a Data Relationship Manager to drive Morningstar data in the German, Swiss and Austrian market. The employee will collaborate with all global and local teams. The Data Relationship Manager is responsible for the relationships with asset managers and other actors of the industry, demonstrate our capabilities and quality, and return the voice of the local market to the global and central teams. The Data Relationship Manager is the main point of contact between our centralized data team and the asset managers. The position will be based in our Frankfurt office.


Job responsibilities:

Representing and explaining the Data workflows, processes, and methodologies (ESG, SFDR and other regulatory requirements, Morningstar ratings…) towards asset managers and clients.

  • Take ownership of acquiring and onboarding new data sets as we keep expanding the quality of analytics delivered to  clients.
  • Partner with product, sales & support teams to help resolve client data questions.
  • Collaborate with members of our Data Operations Teams to align priorities based upon local business requirements.
  • Business analysis on market and regulatory changes to design data collection plans & meet client and industry needs.
  • Monitor competitor behaviour, trends, and services to ensure Morningstar is well placed to act on any opportunities that may arise.


Qualifications:

  • Fluent English and German; other European language preferable
  • 3- 5 years of relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of the local German, Swiss and Austrian investment management industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Significant experience within a financial data role.

Nice to Have

  • Data expert on investment data points, processes, methodologies, calculations and different fund structures
  • High level of interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation
  • Previous experience in project management and relationship management role
  • Extra European language
