Hybrid role in New York City within the Sustainability Office focusing on financed emissions methodology. You'll gather financial and climate data to support financed emissions calculations and manage data-related inquiries with business partner teams, Audit, and Legal. You will assist in applying methodologies such as PCAF to calculate BNY’s carbon footprint and analyze data to identify trends and variances, while supporting data controls and documentation for assurance or audits. You’ll prepare research on climate trends and create presentations for stakeholder engagement.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Associate, ESG Data Solutions & Controls with a focus on our financed emissions methodology and measurement to join our Sustainability Office. This is a HYBRID role located in New York City.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Gather financial and climate-related data to support financed emissions calculations and manage data-related inquiries with business partner teams, Audit, Legal, etc.
• Assist in applying methodologies, such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) to calculate BNY’s carbon footprint and analyze data to identify trends and variances
• Support implementation of data controls and maintain accurate records of accounting processes, data sources, and calculations to ensure accuracy and readiness for assurance or audits
• Prepare research on climate trends, evolving market practices, and advancements in financed emissions accounting standards
• Assist with enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of financed emissions data, calculation processes, and controls
• Prepare presentations and materials for stakeholder engagement
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
• Bachelor’s degree, certifications, and/or prior experiences in sustainability, environmental science, data and analytics, policy, and/or economics
• Experience or familiarity with organizing and maintaining datasets to ensure consistency
• Familiarity with greenhouse gas emissions inventory preparation and methodologies
• Highly detail-oriented, strong project management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced environments
• Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $53,000 and $85,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
