We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Data Automation Specialist (Alteryx/UiPath) to join our Execution Services Operations Digital Transformation Team. This role is located in Manchester.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Deliver actionable insights and process efficiencies by combining data analysis with digital automation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define analytical questions, translate requirements, and deliver data-driven solutions aligned to business outcomes.
  • Design, build, and maintain Alteryx workflows or UiPath automations to streamline data preparation, reconciliations, and repetitive operational tasks.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports (preferred) that surface KPIs, trends, and performance insights; ensure data refresh reliability and usability.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation using SQL and other tools; ensure data quality, lineage, and consistency across sources.
  • Document processes, metadata, assumptions, and data definitions to support auditability and knowledge transfer.
  • Monitor and optimize workflow performance, error handling, and logging; implement controls to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention.
  • Support root-cause analysis and remediation for data issues, producing clear findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to improve data sources, models, and pipelines; contribute to backlog prioritization and iterative delivery.
  • Familiar with AI prompt engineering.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of: Alteryx (Designer/Server) for data prep and analytics workflows OR UiPath for RPA automation and orchestrator-managed deployments.
  • Strong SQL skills (e.g., joins, window functions, performance tuning) and advanced Excel capabilities (lookups, pivots, data modelling).
  • Experience with requirements gathering, translating stakeholder needs into technical solutions, and iterative delivery.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex topics simply.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and ownership of outcomes.


Preferred qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or process automation roles.
  • Understanding of data quality principles, validation techniques, and documentation best practices.
  • Power BI (preferred): data modelling, DAX, report/page design, row-level security, scheduled refresh.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python for data wrangling or API integrations) and familiarity with version control (Git).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools, data warehousing concepts, and working with APIs/flat files.
  • Exposure to automation governance (exceptions handling, audit logs, change management).
  • Familiarity with agile practices (backlog refinement, sprint reviews) and service/incident management workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, testing, and refining AI prompts to translate business requirements into solutions.
