The SVP, Engineering Data Transformation & Analytics will drive digital transformation, business process improvement, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering Strategy & Analytics, this role leads the strategy and design of enterprise technology analytics and AI-enabled automation that improves operational efficiency, enhances client and stakeholder outcomes, and supports executive decision-making. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Define and execute a multi-year data and analytics strategy aligned with enterprise objectives and the engineering operating model. Lead initiatives that modernize data platforms, standardize data pipelines, and enable scalable analytics capabilities across functions. Partner with cross-functional leaders to prioritize transformation roadmaps and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Identify and re-engineer, in partnership with engineering teams, critical business processes using analytics, automation, and AI to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and increase reliability.
  • Lead the development and deployment of AI/ML solutions (predictive, prescriptive, and generative) to produce actionable insights for engineering technical and strategic delivery. Enable and product-manage analytics and insight tools (e.g., dashboards, self-service analytics, Copilot-style assistants) to improve decision velocity and quality.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to deliver executive reporting and insights for leadership forums. Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives and recommendations for senior stakeholders. Serve as the bridge between business leaders, engineering teams, and operations to ensure data and analytics solutions meet strategic needs.
  • Ensure all data and analytics solutions comply with stringent governance, privacy, and security standards, thereby maintaining operational stability and regulatory compliance.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • 10 plus years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics product ownership, or AI solution delivery, ideally within regulated industries (e.g., financial services)
  • Demonstrated impact leading digital transformation and business process improvement using analytics, AI, and automation
  • Hands-on expertise with modern data stacks and analytics tooling: SQL, Python/R, ETL/ELT frameworks, cloud data platforms, and visualization (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience building and operationalizing AI/ML models (including generative AI)
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security practices; ability to design compliant solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex topics into actionable insights

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $170,000 and $102,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
