Combat Data Systems Engineer

The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact on national defense? You understand your customer’s environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution.  

As a Combat Data Systems Engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to design mission data file reprogramming solutions in support of combat data systems that enable weapons systems to identify, locate, and attack threats. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help develop and implement a transformative approach to mission data file updates. You’ll develop your skills in DoD acquisition and systems engineering while gaining experience in fifth-generation fighter technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and electromagnetic sensor data. Grow your skills by merging systems engineering and data fusion to create reprogramming tools that accelerate sensor fusion, combat identification, and weapon cueing or targeting. You Have: 

  • 6+ years of experience in an engineering, technical acquisition, software, or data analysis position

  • 2+ years of experience in engineering design or requirements development

  • Knowledge of sensor data

  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition and systems engineering processes

  • Ability to develop Concept of Operations, define system requirements, and oversee implementation of the technical approach to mission data file reprogramming

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate across large stakeholder groups

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with project management, acquisition support, or engineering with DoD aviation related systems

  • Experience with weapon system sensor data, data fusion, combat ID, mission data files, or reprogramming labs

  • Knowledge of the F-35 Joint Reprogramming Enterprise

  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning approaches to multi-source data fusion for combat ID

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
