The Opportunity: 

The mission of public health relies on precision, and that starts with the data. As a data engineer, you know that organizing complex scientific information is the foundation of accurate analysis. We need an experienced data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions. As a Data Engineering Team Lead at Booz Allen, you’ll use your expertise to act as a Data Architect, Developer, and DBA while leading a team on mission-driven projects.

You’ll guide data engineering activities by overseeing the administration of SQL Server environments and the development of pipelines that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll mentor a team of analysts, data engineers, and developers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your expertise in schema design and data examination while you oversee the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients. You Have:  

  • 7+ years of experience designing and developing SQL databases and administering Microsoft SQL Server
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL change control, schema comparison, and change deployment from development to production using tools such as RedGate or Apex
  • 3+ years of experience with PySpark pipelines and query development in Databricks
  • 2+ years of experience supervising others and leading projects and deliverables within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience migrating SQL to Azure
  • Experience administering Azure SQL Managed Instance
  • Experience with Splunk for monitoring
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
