Job Description:

Position Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Palantir Engineer to develop and manage key areas of our Palantir platform. This role is pivotal in advancing data-driven strategies across our oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Palantir and strong foundational knowledge of data principles, combined with a passion for embracing new technologies. A willingness to learn new tools and solve complex issues quickly is essential.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable data architectures, ensure flawless integration, and deliver high-quality solutions that numerous projects across the hydrocarbon value chain. Additional responsibilities include building development tools, improving platform health, crafting new integrations, and occasionally co-developing solutions with business stakeholders. A strong understanding of master data management and data modeling best practices is required.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead end-to-end development of tools supporting Palantir deployment at bpx, including ontology development, data pipeline design, and workflow optimization.
• Build, implement, and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and integrations using Palantir tools such as AIP, Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, and Ontology Management.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, technology teams, and business stakeholders to translate oil and gas domain requirements into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, security, and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Palantir environment, including governance, data integration, and egress policies.
• Develop and automate testing frameworks, environment cleanup, and quality checks to maintain robust data ecosystems.
• Integrate Palantir with external systems via APIs, improving connectivity with tools such as SAP, AWS, and Copilot.
• Stay ahead of industry trends by evaluating and incorporating new tools and technologies, including AI-driven analytics and emerging data platforms, to improve operational efficiency.
• Conduct workshops and provide training on Palantir best practices to foster a culture of data literacy across the organization.

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years focused on Palantir Foundry or similar big data platforms; candidates with strong data principles and transferable skills from environments such as Snowflake or Databricks will be considered.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and experiment with new tools, evidenced by personal projects, certifications, or contributions to open-source communities.
• Proven expertise in data modeling, including schema design, performance optimization, and handling sophisticated datasets in high-stakes industries.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation, TypeScript for front-end integrations (e.g., React-based applications), and working with APIs for data ingestion and egress.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data quality frameworks, and version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications


• Advanced knowledge of Palantir tools, including Code Repositories, Solution Designer, Data Health, and Data Connections.
• Familiarity with additional technologies such as SQL, Spark/Scala, or AI concepts (e.g., MCP, A2A).
• Experience in ontology design and building data catalogs.
• Hands-on experience in the oil and gas sector, including upstream/downstream data, geospatial analytics, or energy supply chain systems.
