Leading the engineering roadmap and delivery for data and analytics initiatives within Danske Bank's Global Insights department. You will lead and grow a team of engineers, hire and onboard talent, champion agile practices, and drive reliability, scalability and performance through automation and observability. You will sponsor innovation including generative AI PoCs and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver trusted Tableau reporting and semantic models.

Danske Bank is investing in trusted data and analytics to drive innovation and deliver value for customers. Data & Analytics is a priority for the Group, and we are committed to building a trusted data organisation.
Our primary focus is on building, maintaining and optimising data pipelines using technologies like SQL, Python & others, with the nearest future plan to integrate tools such as Kafka, Databricks and Hadoop.
You will join the Global Insights department, part of Group Data and Analytics. Our team of experienced IT professionals, including business intelligence analysts and data engineers, values continuous learning, knowledge sharing and the adoption of emerging technologies to solve complex data challenges.
Danske Bank supports a high degree of workplace flexibility, with our department currently following a hybrid working model where we work at least three days per week from the office.
The position is based in Vilnius. The role does not include a relocation allowance.
What you will do?
- Own the engineering roadmap and align delivery with department priorities
- Lead and grow people through clear goals, coaching, feedback and mentoring
- Attract, hire and onboard talent, and build succession and growth plans
- Champion agile ways of working and a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure delivery excellence by removing impediments early and upholding standards and architecture
- Sponsor innovation and proof-of-concept work, including generative AI and guide decisions on when to scale
- Drive operational reliability, scalability and performance with automation, observability and resilient design, ensuring effective incident and problem management
- Partner with stakeholders to manage expectations, risks and dependencies, and to deliver trusted Tableau reporting and semantic models
About you:
- 3+ years leading engineers or other technical profiles. Strong technical leadership in data architecture and modelling for analytics and reporting
- Proven people manager with a track record in hiring, onboarding and retaining talent, and leading teams through change and innovation
- Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, other related field; or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of data architecture and modelling for analytics and reporting; ability to guide engineers working with Python and SQL and review designs and code; familiarity with cloud data platforms and modern data engineering patterns; knowledge of orchestration, version control, testing and CI/CD; experience with governance, lineage and catalogues, and tools such as dbt

Monthly salary range from 3920 EUR to 5880 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).

Your job function (position) in the job contract will be Leader of Team. From 1 April 2026 it will be renamed to Data Engineering under our new job architecture, with no impact on the role or responsibilities.
