EY AI & Data seeks a Data Architect to drive solution architecture design, evaluate options (buy vs. build), and contribute to business cases with early-phase estimates. You will partner with project managers and business analysts to create data-centric solutions aligned to architecture standards, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets. You will bring strong cloud architecture expertise across Azure, AWS, and GCP on large projects and demonstrate leadership by engaging with stakeholders and guiding teams. This role shapes a data management roadmap to improve data value and reusability within EY's data and analytics practice in Asia-Pacific, based in Kuala Lumpur.

EY AI & Data, is the data and advanced analytics capability within EY Asia-Pacific, with over 500 specialist employees working across multiple industry sectors. You will shape, change, and deliver a data management roadmap to improve and enhance the value and re-usability of data, through modern and evolving data management practices and frameworks.

 

As our Data Architect you'll play a key role in driving solution architecture design, evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the business case. You will partner with key roles (eg. project managers, business analysts, etc) to create solutions that are aligned to architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet the financial targets (costs and benefits).

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Strong cloud architecture expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP) across large project with 2-3 years min. experience in doing cloud projects
  • Strong solution implementation experience (platform engineering, developer experience)
  • Experience in requirements gathering and documentation
  • Strong ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Demonstrated experience in Big Data, data warehouse, data analytics projects, and/or any Information Management related projects
  • Prior experience building large scale enterprise data architectures using commercial and/or open source Data Analytics technologies. Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns e.g. Kappa, Lambda architectures, etc.
  • Product knowledge across different data products such as Databricks, Snowflake, Talend, Denodo, Immuta
  • Data modelling and architecting skills including strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalisation, dimensional data modelling and a variety of data models including data vault

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong consulting experience and background, including engaging directly with clients
