ExxonMobil is seeking a Campus Hire Measurement Engineer to design, specify and troubleshoot custody transfer measurement systems in alignment with corporate standards and industry best practices. The role involves supporting data collection, monitoring and analysis to minimize hydrocarbon losses, and developing standardized workflows to optimize measurement practices across the business unit. You will engineer liquid and gas custody transfer metering systems, oversee testing and commissioning, and mentor less experienced measurement engineers. ExxonMobil in Malaysia

 

In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace.

 

What role you will play in the team

 

In this role, you will provide technical expertise in designing, specifying and troubleshooting custody transfer measurement systems, ensuring compliance with corporate measurement standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities include supporting data collection, monitoring, and analysis to minimize  hydrocarbon losses, as well as developing and standardizing workflows to optimize measurement practices across the business unit.

 

What you will do

 

  • Deliver and assist technical guidance and troubleshooting for custody transfer measurement systems (static and dynamic), ensuring all solutions comply with Corporate Measurement Standards and industry best practices.
  • Engineer and specify liquid and gas custody transfer metering systems tailored to the required accuracy for oil and gas, petrochemical and refining operations, ensuring precision, reliability and governance compliance.
  • Support data collection, monitoring, analysis, investigation, and implementation strategies to minimize hydrocarbon losses
  • Lead the development, deployment and optimization of workflows to standardize corporate measurement activities/ practices across all business lines, ensuring full alignment with Company Measurement standards.
  • Drive lifecycle management excellence by proactively identifying obsolescence risks, formulating strategic action plans, and upgrades to maintain optimum custody metering system performance.
  • Oversee and support custody metering testing, commissioning, and start-up to ensure seamless operational readiness.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced measurement engineers
  • Stay updated with the industry measurement standards (e.g., API, OIML, ISA, ISO, IEC) by participating in industry committees and working groups focusing on reviewing and developing standards.
  • Keep up with advancements in measurement technology and recommend upgrades where applicable to enhance efficiency accuracy and minimize exposure to product loss.

  • Excellent academic track record
