You will collate, maintain, and update database fields with accurate information according to defined processes, reviewing official updates from feeds, corporate actions, press releases and reports to provide real-time, high-quality data to clients. You will analyze content sets quickly and in accordance with established rules, and support the team in achieving its goals by meeting individual targets. This role requires on-site work three times per week.

Your Team's Impact  

 

The Ownership group in Manila is comprised of multiple teams – (1) Financial Sponsors, (2) Holdings and (3) Stakes. Collectively, the group aims to provide accurate, reliable quantitative financial market data while simultaneously pushing for continuous improvement in production, coverage, and timeliness to our internal and external clients. 

Financial Sponsors 

The Financial Sponsor Team in Manila collects and maintains Institutional and Contact data for buy-side and sell-side firms. The team is responsible for keeping track of research analysts and investment personnel at these firms. They also provide research and concordance support for various datasets and collection processes owned by other groups. The Financial Sponsor group is spread across several offices, and the dynamic interaction between various teams is essential to the group’s workflow and success. 

Holdings 

The Holdings Team in Manila collects and maintains Mutual Fund holdings and static data. The team is responsible for keeping track of mutual fund portfolios, which are publicly available or available via direct contact at the asset management firms managing the portfolios as well as the reference data associated to these funds. They also provide research and concordance support for various datasets and collection processes owned by other groups. The Holdings group is spread across several offices, and the dynamic interaction between various teams is essential to the group’s workflow and success. 

Stakes 

The Stakes Team in Manila collects and maintains Stakes and Insider Ownership information for public companies in markets. The team is responsible for following and documenting the evolution of relevant sources and regulations in different markets. They also provide research and concordance support for various datasets and collection processes owned by other groups. The Stakes group is spread across several offices, and the dynamic interaction between various teams is essential to the group’s workflow and success. 

 

As a Research Analyst, you will be responsible for collating, maintaining, and updating relevant fields in the database with accurate information in accordance with the defined work process. You will be analyzing these content sets by reviewing official updates from our trusted sources that can be in the form of feeds, corporate action mails, press releases, and other reports; thereby making it available to FactSet clients in real-time and in top quality. You will report to the Team Lead and assist in meeting the team’s business goals by meeting your individual targets. You are expected to work onsite three times a week. 

 

 

 

 

What You'll Do  

 

Financial Sponsors 

  • Manage the institutional/fund/contact coverage already in the database following the procedures already established for each country 

  • Identify new sources of information in order to increase the institutions/funds/contacts coverage in country/countries followed 

  • Follow the financial press in the country/countries assigned. Keep up with regulation relating to institutions/funds/contacts 

  • Interpret and then integrate data quickly and qualitatively in strict accordance with the established rules 

 

Holdings 

  • Manage the Mutual Funds coverage already in the database following the procedures already established for each country 

  • Identify new sources of information in order to increase the Funds/Contacts coverage in country/countries followed 

  • Follow the financial press in the country/countries assigned. Keep up with regulation relating to Funds/Contacts 

  • Interpret and then integrate data quickly and qualitatively in strict accordance with the established rules 

 

Stakes 

  • Maintain full coverage of stakes ownership, so that no company within the assigned universe of companies remains un-researched more than 30 days 

  • Process all disclosures of ownership changes within the assigned universe daily 

  • Keep the coverage up to date; daily updates mainly based on shareholder’s ownership disclosures and between 1,000 and 3,000 periodic updates of ownership profiles per year, based on company reports or other public sources 

  • Find all public data relevant for analyzing the ownership information and describing it to the client 

  • Analyze the ownership data and describe the ownership to the client respecting the methodology 

  • Understand and explain in some cases why ownership has been described in a specific way or why it hasn’t been taken into account 

 

 

 

What We're Looking For  

 

Required Skills  

  • Graduate in Commerce / Business Management / Finance / Accounting / Economics or equivalent 

  • Computer Literacy to effectively use the database and software for collection and processing of content/data 

  • Good Knowledge of financial markets to ensure effective understanding of assigned content/market 

 

Desired Skills  

  • Must have good communications skills - written & verbal need to interact with external and internal clients 

  • Numerical skills to ensure understanding of the financial data to be collected and/or processed 

  • Analytical skills and detail orientation to ensure accuracy of data 

  • Good knowledge of Excel. Must be able to manipulate large spreadsheets 

  • Business process demands to work in night shifts 

  • Willing to work extended hours as per the business needs 

  • Willing to be assigned to other projects 

  • Driven by success, enthusiasm, and a desire to exceed target
