The Role
Are you passionate about shaping how data and information power a life insurance business? As Vice President, Head of Life Information Systems, you will be defining and delivering the data platforms that enable insight‑driven decision‑making across Fidelity’s life insurance organization. This role is responsible for visioning, architecting, and implementing a modern, cloud‑based information ecosystem that supports analytics across the full life insurance value chain. You will be leading highly technical teams while partnering closely with senior business leaders to turn strategy into scalable, trusted data capabilities.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data and information systems, with a strong understanding of how data enables business performance in regulated environments.
You have led the creation of modern cloud‑based data platforms, including leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, to support analytics, reporting, and insight generation.
Comfortability in operating hands‑on with highly technical data engineers and architects, guiding complex architecture and implementation decisions, while also communicating clearly and effectively with senior business and technology leaders.
An understanding of how data supports diverse life insurance functions, including marketing and distribution, product development and effectiveness, underwriting, actuarial and finance, reinsurance, and policy acquisition and administration.
An experienced people leader with a track record of building and leading high‑performing, geographically distributed teams.
You value strong data governance, quality, and security, and balance innovation with reliability, cost efficiency, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to embrace environments with complexity and ambiguity and can translate business needs into clear technical direction and execution.
Experience leading enterprise data and information systems, preferably within life insurance or regulated financial services
Deep experience with modern cloud data platforms; Snowflake experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to lead and develop highly technical, globally distributed teams
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
