The role supports the business with data quality initiatives and standards, working closely with regional supply chain teams and IS. The successful implementation of master data governance processes is crucial for our S2C system, Coupa, and other supply chain systems. The role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders to ensure data standards are adopted and maintained across the organization.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a robust materials master data governance framework across the Glencore Copper department's global operations.

  • Ensure that each region understands and applies the adopted standards.

  • Establish and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures for both active and passive governance to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the supply chain.

  • Drive data-driven decision making by ensuring material master data is accurate, complete, timely, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Leverage advanced data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, enabling better operational and strategic decisions.

  • Guide the business and other stakeholders, including the regions, in complying with the established standards through training and coaching.

  • Evaluate the quality of master data across regions and propose improvements to drive compliance.

  • Head of Finance

  • Head of Information Systems

  • Regional CFOs and related positions

  • Regional Leads of Supply Chain and related positions

  • Regional and site cataloguing and master data Teams

  • Inventory and Warehouse Management Teams

      External

  • SAP and Coupa Representatives

  • Implementation Partner Representatives

  • Master Data Management Solution Providers

  • Industry Standards Organizations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Industrial, Commercial Engineering, Information Systems, or similar

  • Advanced knowledge of SAP S4/HANA and Master Data Management modules

  • General knowledge of E-Procurement Systems, preferably Coupa Source to Pay

  • Experience with Material Master Data governance tools and frameworks

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Global, cross-cultural work experience

  • Oral and written proficiency in English (Spanish/French advantageous)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience in master data management or data governance in mining or industrial sectors

  • Strong understanding of materials master data structures, hierarchies, taxonomies, and codification standards (ECCMA, UNSPSC)

  • Experience implementing and managing master data governance frameworks (active and passive governance)

  • Proven experience with data quality management, including cleansing, enrichment, and standardization

  • Experience with SAP S4/HANA Materials Management and related master data management tools

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data requirements into practical governance solutions

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influence across organizational boundaries

  • Strong project management skills in implementing data governance initiatives

  • Ability to develop and deliver training on data governance principles

  • Experience leveraging data analytics to generate actionable insights for decision-making and process improvement
