The Associate Director, Software Engineering will lead a team responsible for implementing Retail Data Modelling systems for Wealth and Personal Banking Risk portfolios across HBAP markets. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Business: Enterprise Technology L3

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead the team on the implementation of Retail Data Modelling (aka RDM 2.0) for Wealth and Personal Banking Risk (WPB Risk) portfolios for HBAP markets, and the migration of existing data into the new systems with completeness and accuracy within the agreed Service level agreement.
  • Responsible for RDM 2.0 system design cross ASP markets, ensure the solution is aligned with FSA.
  • Lead by example, delivering solutions at a high cadence for building new functionality and replacing legacy systems, while also supporting other teams to achieve the same.
  • Influencing Senior stakeholders including Business, ensure focus on functional and Non Functional deliveries.
  • Assist and support senior leaders in WPB Risk business and WPB risk IT to understand impacts and make key design decisions by providing facts and details on system and approach (such as data sourcing / process choices).
  • Ability to Mentors other, grow careers and deliver success, Develop talent within both regional and global team.
  • Promote engineering excellence and the development of a strong engineering culture across our teams – influencing behaviors and removing barriers within the teams, across Technology Teams and GAC (Global Analytic Centre)

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong technical background, with a deep understanding of data engineering such as Python/Spark and cloud technologies.
  • Proven experience in data warehouse system development , operational and management, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Experience leading a development team, showing strong leadership skills and a desire to develop and empower teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders globally.
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure.
