Job Description

Your Team

The Data Platforms team within Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that power Invesco’s analytics, reporting, and digital transformation initiatives. We partner closely with enterprise architects, data governance teams, and business stakeholders across geographies to deliver data-driven insights and enable innovation.

The team is composed of skilled data engineers, analysts, and consultants working on modern data platforms, cloud-native technologies, and enterprise-grade solutions. As a Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding this team toward excellence and operational efficiency.

Your Role

As a Manager – Data Platforms, you will:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers, ensuring delivery of scalable and efficient data pipelines and platforms.
  • Collaborate with global architecture and engineering teams to align with enterprise data strategy.
  • Drive adoption of modern data engineering practices, tools, and frameworks.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and execution of data platform initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight for complex data engineering projects.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor team performance, manage workloads, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational risks.

People & Culture

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote engineering best practices and ensure high standards of code quality, documentation, and delivery.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, mentorship, and team engagement.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the team.

Talent Development

  • Identify skill gaps and development opportunities for team members.
  • Support career growth through coaching, feedback, and training initiatives.
  • Lead hiring efforts and help build a high-performing, inclusive team.

The Experience You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools such as Airflow, Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools like Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a global, matrixed environment.

Academic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
