Senior full-stack AWS Software Engineer focused on Spark-based data processing within JPMorgan Chase's Risk Technology team, responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable applications. You will build batch and real-time components on AWS, modernize existing applications, and ensure quality via automated unit, integration, and acceptance testing. The role requires collaboration with multinational agile teams, participation in all agile rituals, and providing level 2 production support. Requires 3+ years of applied experience with Apache Spark and hands-on experience deploying software components on AWS; Terraform, SpringBoot, and scripting skills are preferred.

As an AWS Software Engineer III-Full Stack/Spark at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Risk Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.


Job responsibilities

  • Design & build new applications utilizing leading edge technologies and modernize existing applications
  • Implement batch & real-time software components consistent with architectural best-practices of reliability, security, operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness and performance
  • Ensure quality of deployed code via automated unit, integration & acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with multi-national agile development, support and business teams to meet sprint objectives
  • Participate in all agile meetings & rituals, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog reviews, demos, and retrospectives
  • Provide level 2 support for production systems
  • Learn and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  • Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark or similar large scale data processing engines
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying software components on AWS using common compute and storage services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, Se, RDS, and Aurora
  • Strong analytics and troubleshooting skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer, or Solutions Architect
  • Prior experience using Terraform to deploy infrastructure-as-code to public cloud
  • Prior experience coding Java applications using SpringBoot
  • Prior experience with Linux scripting such as Bash, KSH, or Python
Proactively safeguard the firm and customers, detecting and mitigating risks with advanced technology
