The Data Technology Controls Analyst supports the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Risk and Control Management function in implementing data-related technology controls defined by Firmwide Data Assurance and the CIB Chief Data Office. The role involves defining and publishing control procedures for data quality, retention and privacy, as well as providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders and assisting CIB Application Owners with the adoption of those controls. The analyst will maintain a knowledge base, track metrics and OKRs to senior stakeholders up to the CIB CTO/CDO level, and support compliance, audit and regulatory action plan execution. The role also focuses on identifying automation opportunities and contributing to Data Architecture tooling requirements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of controls.

Location: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina

The primary function of the Data Technology Controls Analyst role is to work within the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Risk and Control Management function to support the rollout and implementation of data-related technology controls defined by Firmwide Data Assurance and CIB Chief Data Office (CDO).

Working closely with CIB CDO, CIB Sub-LOB Data Governance Leads and Technology Asset Owners, the team have a number of primary objectives:

  • Define and publish data-related technology control procedures for CIB, including technical data quality, data retention and destruction, data protection, and data privacy controls.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding the data-related technology control procedures to Firmwide Data Assurance, CIB CDO Leads, sub-LoB Data Governance Leads, Application Owners, and Information Security Managers.
  • Support CIB Application Owners with the adoption and evidencing of data-related technology control procedures.
  • Maintain a knowledge base for data-related technology control procedures, including best practice, guidelines and training.
  • Track and report metrics and OKR’s (Objectives & Key Results) to senior stakeholders (up to and including CIB CTO/CDO level) relating to data-related technology control procedures.
  • Support compliance, audit and regulatory action plan execution for data-related technology control implementation across CIB.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvements, and contribute to the Data Architecture tooling requirements (including new features), to improve efficiency and effectiveness of controls.

The Data Technology Controls Analyst should have a knowledge of data management and best practices, is able to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the organization and be required to evidence the following required levels of experience, knowledge, and skills.

Experience & Knowledge  Essential

  • Understanding of application solution design and delivery.
  • Understanding of data management and governance frameworks, approaches, tools and techniques.
  • Understanding of creating or maintaining a knowledge base, including best practices, guidelines and training.
  • Understand and explain technology related topics to business stakeholders, such as CIB CDO.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with changing and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrates excellent engagement skills with key stakeholder by translating control requirements to required activities.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of data management capabilities, such as lifecycle management, data quality (DQ) management, metadata management, data classification, data lineage, data privacy or data integration.
  • Knowledge of data management technologies (e.g. data retention, data integration, data visualization, analytics) and integration styles (e.g. file, API, messaging, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Financial Services.
  • Experience of process automation implementation (including the use of LLM and other AI solutions).
  • Experience of reporting tools such as Qlik, Tableau or Excel.
