Join JPMSE’s Data Governance team in Frankfurt as a Vice President to shape data governance, drive firmwide frameworks, and elevate data management maturity. You will report to the Head of Data Governance, cover all lines of business and corporate functions, and partner with regional and global teams to ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead the execution of Data Governance projects, develop metrics to enable monitoring, oversee the RDARR framework implementation, and prepare executive-ready materials. The role requires strong governance expertise, regulatory experience (BCBS 239, EU AI Act, GDPR), and the ability to operate in a highly matrixed organization.

As a Vice President within our Data Governance team, you will shape data management practices, implement governance frameworks, and leverage analytics to support business decision-making. Reporting to the JPMSE Head of Data Governance, you will cover all lines of business and corporate functions, partnering with regional and global teams to ensure regulatory compliance. You will drive data governance frameworks, facilitate decision-making, monitor emerging risks, and support timely escalations.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Data Governance projects within JPMSE; manage decision-making, review emerging risks, and oversee escalations to senior management and appropriate governance forums.
  • Define requirements for JPMSE metric views to enable robust monitoring and compliance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Review JPMSE metrics and escalate to appropriate JPMSE governing bodies to raise risk awareness and drive remediation to bring metrics within accepted thresholds.
  • Drive the implementation, enhancement, and evolution of the JPMSE RDARR Framework (including Data Quality, Data Confidence, Data Lineage, etc), and champion adherence across the legal entity.
  • Define and maintain JPMSE Data Governance processes, policies, and procedures; ensure accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards and internal risk frameworks.
  • Manage and prepare executive-ready reports, presentations, and other supporting materials for Data Governance projects and forums, providing clear and concise information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sponsor the development of data governance training materials and oversee delivery of training sessions to embed best practices across the organization.
  • Maintain oversight of comprehensive records of data issues, including status, remediation actions, and resolutions, to support effective data management and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor topics relating to JPMSE RDARR capabilities, including Data Lineage, Data Quality, and UserTool retirement.
  • Facilitate the annual review of the RDARR Scope of Application and secure appropriate governance approvals.
  • Coordinate and lead assessments to review potential impacts arising from new business initiatives or M&As, ensuring proactive governance and control design.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Significant relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a proven track record in relevant data or risk domains.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization, with strong knowledge of operational and data governance principles and practices.
  • Experience driving regulatory assessments and leading regulatory implementation, including frameworks such as BCBS 239, EU AI Act, and GDPR.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to succinctly convey complex messages to stakeholders at various levels across the organization.
  • Ability to translate business context and requirements into clear, actionable messages relevant for the legal entity.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues globally, across all levels and functions.
  • Education to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Fluency in Englis

  • German language skills will be considered an advantage.
