Lead Infrastructure Engineer on JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Infrastructure Platforms, driving modernization of mission-critical systems at global scale. Shape the future at JPMorgan Chase as a Lead Infrastructure Engineer on Corporate Infrastructure Platforms, driving modernization of mission‑critical systems at global scale. You’ll lead end‑to‑end design, development, and deployment, architect changes with partner platforms, provide global on‑call support, and apply rigorous problem‑solving while anticipating upstream/downstream impacts. You’ll champion a culture of respect and opportunity and uphold firmwide standards for change, issue resolution, design, and JIRA—expanding your technical and cross‑functional expertise in a high‑impact environment.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Infrastructure Platforms team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides On call support as part of the team’s rotation shared globally
  • Develops, create and deploy changes
  • Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to issue/problem resolution and projects.
  • Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
  • Adds to team culture of opportunity, and respect working well within the team and the organization
  • Follows the firm’s processes related to change, issue resolution and design
  • Follows the firm’s processes regarding JIRA

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Formal training or certification on Infrastructure Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience 
  • In-depth experience with on IBM zSeries Platform, IBM Messaging Queuing/IBM Integration Bus functionality, design, integration, and implementation including SYSPLEX technology.
  • Performing IBM Messaging Queuing and IBM Integration Bus systems programming work in a zSeries operating system environment.
  • Provide IBM Message Queuing administration support to multiple applications.
  • Experience with installation, maintaining, and implementation of IBM Message Queuing on z/OS platform. 
  • Understanding Queue Manager, queues, channels and other Message Queuing objects.
  • Add queue managers to clusters, queue sharing group for load balancing and failover.
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Understanding of RACF/ACF2 security.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Knowledge of tuning Message Queuing using System Management Facility records or other reporting.
  • Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, JCL, REXX, PERL, PHP, JYTHON, zOS Management Facility Workflows, J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, Ansible
