As a Lead Software Engineer in Corporate Risk Technology based in Hyderabad, you will design, build, and deliver large-scale data engineering solutions and enterprise platforms. You will develop secure production code using Java and Python, work with data lakes, relational and NoSQL databases, and leverage technologies such as Kafka, Spark/PySpark, Airflow, and cloud-native services. The role includes technical leadership—driving architecture evaluations, automation/CI-CD, observability, and mentoring engineering practices across teams.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Risk Technology, you are an integral part of an agile E&A team that works to design, build, enhance and deliver advanced data engineering solutions and trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code for data-intensive applications, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and
    5
    + years applied experience
  • Proficiency in Data Engineering & Architecture, AI/ML with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, testing, and ensuring the operational stability of large-scale enterprise platforms and solutions
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) eg. Java, Python , C/C++, C#
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and data lake architectures
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code (preferably in a large corporate environment) with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages with good overlap of application & DB. 
  • Experience in large scale data processing, using micro services, API design,  Kafka, Redis, MemCached, Observability (Dynatrace , Splunk, Grafana or similar), Orchestration (Airflow, Temporal)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with modern data technologies such as Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark and other big data processing technologies
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Carry out advanced data engineering initiatives and critical tech solutions across multiple technical areas as an integral part of an agile Engineering & Architecture team
