As a Lead Software Engineer in the Finance Technology team, you will lead the design, development and deployment of regulatory reporting applications across APAC using Databricks, PySpark and vendor tools like Axiom/OFSAA. You will oversee data sourcing, calculations and reporting, align local solutions with global architecture standards, and integrate vendor software. The role involves leading multiple feature teams, fostering engineering excellence, experimentation and continuous improvement. Strong cloud (AWS) and technology leadership experience is required.

As Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Finance Technology team, you will be at the forefront of promoting engineering excellence and innovation in regulatory reporting across APAC. You will oversee the development and deployment of applications catering to the regulatory reporting needs of Finance users across APAC locations, leveraging a cutting-edge tech stack including Databricks, PySpark, and vendor-based products like Axiom/OFSAA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the application suite for data sourcing, calculations, and reporting tailored for local jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate globally to align with architecture standards while meeting local requirements.
  • Lead a motivated team, fostering high standards in design, analytics, development, and vendor software integration.
  • Promote a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and learning.
  • Work collaboratively in a diverse environment, valuing creative solutions for global customers.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. 
  • Hands on experience in Databricks, PySpark, and vendor-based products like Axiom/OFSAA
  • Hands on experience in technology leadership roles, focusing on application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience in implementing and integrating vendor software solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Experience leading multiple feature teams of 7-8 software engineers.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
  • AWS, Google, or Azure certification preferred.
