As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Technology, Finance Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You will be at the forefront of promoting engineering excellence and innovation in regulatory reporting across APAC. You will oversee the development and deployment of applications catering to the regulatory reporting needs of Finance users across APAC locations, leveraging a cutting-edge tech stack including Databricks, PySpark, and vendor-based products like Axiom/OFSAA.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the application suite for data sourcing, calculations, and reporting tailored for local jurisdictions.
- Collaborate globally to align with architecture standards while meeting local requirements.
- Lead a motivated team (as non-manager), fostering high standards in design, analytics, development, and vendor software integration.
- Promote a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and learning.
- Work collaboratively in a diverse environment, valuing creative solutions for global customers.
- Actively engage stakeholders to provide solution to their problems, while maintaining tech architecture and design principles
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Demonstrate advanced experience in one or more programming languages, such as PL/SQL, Java, or Python.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in working on Vendor driven Reg reporting solutions which included non-English locations
- Hands on experience in technology leadership roles, focusing on application, data, and infrastructure architecture.
- Proficiency in Chinese is required to effectively interact with stakeholders in China.
- Familiarity with modern technologies like Pyspark & Prophecy.
- Exposure to cloud technologies including Databricks
- AWS, Google, or Azure certification preferred.
