You influence budgetary and architectural decisions, governance of coding practices, and delivery of scalable data pipelines and architecture solutions used across businesses. The role requires formal software engineering training and 5+ years of experience including cross-functional leadership, product ownership, and talent development. As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Risk Technology team which is aligned to Corporate Technology , you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads data and process implementation teams to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Makes strategic decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the implementation of processes and procedures
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
  • Delivers data pipeline and architecture solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and data technology teams
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition to experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Experience working at code level
Serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams
