The role focuses on Databricks integration, building and maintaining data pipelines, and writing high-quality Python production code. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, focusing on Databricks integration and adoption
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks, ensuring efficient and reliable data processing for internal teams
- Write secure, high-quality production code in Python and participate in code reviews and debugging
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and improve operational stability
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance and best practices for Databricks usage
Participate in team discussions and activities to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Exhibit proficiency in Python programming
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks
- Apply practical experience with CI/CD tools and automation methods
- Demonstrate familiarity with agile development practices, application resiliency, and security
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
