As an Experienced Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Global Technology team, you serve as member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Depending on the team that you join, you could be developing mobile features that give our customers and clients more control over how they bank with us, strategizing on how big data can make our trading systems quicker, creating the next innovation in payments for merchants, or supporting the integration of our private and public cloud platforms.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, resilient AWS ETL systems that drive iterative product improvements
  • Execute end‑to‑end software solutions covering design, development, testing, and technical troubleshooting
  • Create secure, high‑quality production code and maintain algorithms aligned with system performance needs
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts and ensure software adheres to defined constraints and standards
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize large, diverse datasets; develop visualizations and reporting to inform decisions
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate within an agile team to deliver increments predictably
  • Implement observability, reliability, and performance practices to ensure stable operations
  • Partner across teams to integrate applications with private and public cloud platforms
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies

     

  • Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

    • Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience

    • Design, develop, test, and stabilize applications with hands‑on system design and operational excellence
    • Code ETL pipelines using AWS Glue and EMR; author production‑grade Python and PySpark
    • Query and model data using SQL and NoSQL; write performant SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle and other relational databases
    • Build data ingestion from on‑prem to AWS private cloud using S3, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Glue (Studio, workflows, Data Catalog), CloudWatch, Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL, and EMR
    • Apply SDLC best practices and produce architecture/design artifacts aligned to code and constraints
    • Implement agile and DevOps practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, observability, and security
    • Leverage AWS cloud and data warehousing services to deliver scalable, resilient solutions
    • Secure workloads and data using KMS and IAM following least‑privilege principles
    • Hold a bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering
    • Communicate crisply and coordinate development cycles and project milestones with stakeholders

    Preferred Qualification, Capabilities and Skills

  • Operate streaming data platforms such as Kafka, AWS MSK, or Confluent Kafka
  • Implement CI/CD in AWS and provision infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Visualize data using QuickSight or Sigma and build solutions with knowledge graphs and GraphDB
  • Apply full‑stack software engineering practices across analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement
