KPMG is currently seeking a Data Center Senior Analyst to join our Digital Nexus organization. This is an On-Site work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT customers, providing hands-on support for their technical needs within the data center environment; manage the day-to-day operations of the data center, including server hardware, network infrastructure, and data center security
- Maintain data center policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices; keep DC hardware asset lifecycle processes including inventory tracking as well as HD & Media destruction
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center equipment, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures; collaborate with IT teams to coordinate and execute equipment moves, additions, and changes within the data center, ensuring minimal disruption to IT services
- Respond to customer inquiries and service requests in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate and helpful information and resolutions; maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions, ensuring proper tracking and reporting of incidents
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate teams or DC Lead Engineers, following established escalation procedures; provide backup support to Batch Operations team supporting IWS/TWS job scheduling
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices related to data center operations, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to provide effective support to IT customers; participate in on-call rotations and be available for shift work, including possible night shifts, to provide 24/7 support for data center operations
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of recent experience in data center operations, with a focus on data center planning, hardware installations, network infrastructure, and data center security
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; minimum high school diploma or GED required
- Basic understanding of IBM Tape library functions and Backup Media handling; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical network and infrastructure cabling issues
- Knowledge of Sunbird dcTRACK and PowerIQ administration a plus; knowledge of Raritan Command Center KVM/Console infrastructure and administration a plus; knowledge of ServiceNow AMDB, Inventory Management as well as Incident & Change Management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders; good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
- Experienced mechanical competency working on delicate computer equipment; able to lift and install heavy computer equipment weighing up to 50lbs
