Director of Enterprise Data Engineering to lead LSEG's enterprise data engineering capability and master data platform strategy, delivering a group-wide single source of truth for critical data. Build and scale a high-performing engineering team applying enterprise data architecture and product management principles to empower Finance, Risk, Sales, and Operations. Own the technical realization of the Master Data Management vision (MDM) and platform capabilities (Reltio), defining roadmaps, standards, and data quality, governance, and security by design. Collaborate with product domains, manage third-party partners, and drive reliability through SLOs, incident management, and governance practices.

Role Summary

LSEG is strengthening its data capabilities, and our Enterprise Data Strategy and Master Data Platform are key components of this vision. We’re seeking a Director of Enterprise Data Engineering to lead this capability, realising the vision of a group-wide single source of truth for critical enterprise data.

In this role, you will build a high‑performing engineering team that applies robust enterprise data architecture and product‑management principles to deliver a modern data ecosystem to empower Finance, Risk, Sales, and Operations with the data they need to improve decision‑making, customer experiences and innovation across LSEG.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead & Grow the Engineering Team

  • Lead, scale and inspire a senior engineering organisation as it grows.
  • Create a culture of ownership, inclusion, technical excellence and learning.
  • Drive adoption of AI across the product development lifecycle.

Set Corporate Data Vision & Strategy

  • Own the technical realisation of our Master Data Management vision, creating the high-level designs and roadmaps, mapped to measurable goals.
  • Leverage customer and stakeholder insights to manage dependencies, risks and guide prioritisation and long-term planning.
  • Act as a senior domain expert; mentoring and guiding architects and engineers to make the best decisions.

Deliver Modern Robust Ecosystem

  • Deliver the Customer Master Data programme, and MDM platform (Reltio) capabilities.
  • Define and uphold platform architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Create reusable patterns across APIs, MCP, events/CDC and batch.
  • Embed strong data quality, lineage and stewardship practices.
  • Protect product quality, engineering standards and delivery velocity across mixed delivery models (FTE, contractors, partners).

Collaborate Across the Business and Partners

  • Work closely with participating product domains: Customer Data Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Compliance/KYC.
  • Leverage QBRs, MBRs are informal workshops to keep teams moving in the same direction.
  • Establish architectural practices to maintain alignment across engineering domains.
  • Manage third party partners and suppliers through outcome based SLAs.‑party partners and suppliers through outcome‑based SLAs.

Drive Security, Governance & Reliability

  • Apply privacy, governance and security by design.
  • Set and maintain SLOs, resilience patterns, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Use incident management and error budgets to improve reliability.

You’ll Bring (Key Skills & Experience)

Platform & Product Leadership

  • Proven experience delivering Enterprise Data, MDM and/or Reference Data as scalable products, with end-to-end accountability for roadmap, design, delivery and quality.
  • Strong product mindset - comfortable defining platform and product vision, KPIs, value driven prioritisation backlogs and customer focused outcomes.

Technical Expertise

  • Domain experience of enterprise master data, data management, data architecture, and data principles.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, privacy, technical assurance and regulated data contexts.
  • Experience of modern integration patterns - MCP, APIs, event streaming/CDC and batch pipelines.
  • Modern software delivery practices (e.g., CI/CD) observability, IaC, etc. to deliver continuous, safe, incremental delivery.
  • Familiarity with CRM, KYC, Customer 360 and enterprise customer data models.
  • Experience integrating MDM (Reltio) with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and ideally ERP or billing systems.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable insights for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating discovery workshops, roadmap alignment and stakeholder reviews.

Operational & Delivery Excellence

  • Experience defining SLOs and operating resilient data platforms.
  • Ability to manage technical debt, balance reliability vs. feature delivery.
  • Vendor and partner management experience with outcome driven SLAs.
  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis and preventive engineering using error budgets to guide prioritisation and trade‑offs.
