Role Overview

As the Manager, Data Engineering - Customer Success, you will lead a team responsible for supporting global financial institutions by diagnosing, resolving, and escalating technical issues across our data pipelines. You will guide engineers in delivering high-quality technical support while partnering closely with clients and cross‑quality technical support while partnering closely with clients and cross-functional development teams to ensure the reliability and performance of large‑scale, automated data flows.

This position sits at the intersection of data engineering, operations, and client engagement—ideal for a leader who excels at both managing technical teams and navigating complex data challenges in a high-impact‑impact environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers responsible for incident analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and issue resolution.

  • Oversee Level 2 technical support across ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines.

  • Drive continuous improvements in pipeline stability, performance, and monitoring practices.

  • Partner with product teams and other engineering teams to prioritize fixes, escalations, and long-term technical solutions.

  • Ensure consistent execution of workflow management, job scheduling, and operational best practices.

  • Build strong relationships with key clients, providing guidance and transparency during technical events.

  • Establish performance metrics, operational dashboards, and reporting to support data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a background managing customer-facing engineering teams in financial technology or data-intensive industries.

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Python and object-‑oriented application development.

  • Deep understanding of workflow and job scheduling frameworks such as Jenkins, Rundeck, Apache Airflow, or similar.

  • Proven background in batch data processing or largescale, automated data environments.

  • Expertise in ETL pipelines and Data Lake architectures.

  • Proficiency with Git-based version control (GitLab or GitHub).

  • Strong Linux expertise, including server operations, system processes, daemons, and task automation.

  • Experience leading technical teams and driving operational excellence in high-throughput data environments.

  • Ability to work US shift: 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Athena, Dremio, or Snowflake.

  • Familiarity with container orchestration and compute platforms like Kubernetes, AWS EC2, ECS, or EKS.
