We are looking for a versatile Snowflake / Python Developer to join the SwapAgent Reporting team within LSEG's Post Trade Solutions. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and related systems on AWS, with strong Snowflake and Python expertise. You will work in an Agile pod, owning development from planning through deployment and production support, and actively contributing to testing to ensure high quality, reliable solutions.

We are looking for a versatile and passionate Snowflake / Python Developer to join the SwapAgent Reporting development team, part of the SwapAgent Technology function supporting LSEG’s Post Trade Solutions business. The team is responsible for the designing, building, and supporting critical reporting service and systems that facilitate the SwapAgent Business operations.

This Snowflake / Python Developer role will focus on designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and related systems that are critical to the service.

You will be assigned to a pod team and work multi-functionally within an Agile environment to ensure the smooth execution of the software development lifecycle, from planning and development to deployment and support. You will work with the development Team Lead while actively contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions.

The successful candidate needs to be hands-on, with a strong and deep understanding of Snowflake and python plus the knowledge of various databases and AWS cloud development. You need to be proactive and able to work independently and take ownership. You will also be encouraged to make contributions to functional testing, ensure the solutions meet high standards for quality and reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Take ownership of the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions
  • Take responsibility for identification, estimation and reporting on progress of tasks, along with liaising across the business analyst, developer and continuous integration teams
  • Contribute to unit testing, system integration testing, and participate in test case design and execution
  • Support production systems, solve issues, provide timely fixes including participation in out-of-hours support rota
  • Document technical specifications, workflow and system design
  • Work within an Agile/Pod team, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of practical experience in system & database design, application development, testing
  • proven ability in Snowflake/SQL & Python development
  • 3+ years demonstrable experience in Business Intelligence development
  • Solid understanding and experience in SQL and Database technologies like Oracle, Postgres
  • Experience on Apache Spark / Snowpark, Python programming language used for data pipelines
  • Experience on AWS platform, especially EC2, RDS, Airflow, Ansible, terraform etc.
  • Experience of test automation frameworks like Pytest, behave, BDD or similar.
  • Exposure to crafting systems with Application Resiliency, and Security in mind
  • Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies

Desirable skills

  • Experience with the finance domain and knowledge of FpML& OTC derivative products
  • Exposure to cloud technology
  • Exposure to Agile development methodology
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience in working with GIT source control tool
  • Exposure to performance tuning and system optimization
  • Exposure to designing systems with Application Resiliency, and Security in mind
