Join Macquarie's global Data Centre/Infrastructure team as a Data Center Engineer responsible for provisioning and maintaining highly available hosting facilities for Macquarie Group IT services. You will manage the design and installation of racks and cabling, oversee IT equipment installations, moves and decommissions, and coordinate cable patching with engineering teams. You’ll maintain accurate plans in DCIM (e.g., Nlyte), schedule work orders, coordinate change and incident management, and review architectural drawings for Tech Room and office projects, while coordinating with internal staff and third‑party providers. The role offers opportunities to improve standards and collaborate with a global IT team from Hong Kong.

What role will you play?

Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate plans in Nlyte DCIM, scheduling work orders in BMC Helix, coordinating change and incident management, and reviewing architectural drawings for Tech Room and office projects. You’ll also contribute to improving standards, assist with carrier service designs, manage cabling infrastructure, and establish relationships with service partners. Additionally, you’ll oversee the replacement of rack power strips and coordinate equipment power-downs.
What you offer

- 5+ years' experience in Data Centre/Comms Room management, including racking, stacking and patching (Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, CAT6, Fibre, X-connects, Panduit/Visi frames)
- Strong knowledge of cabling standards, installation practices and supporting infrastructure (CommScope Systimax or Panduit preferred)
- Familiarity with complex data centre environments, including redundant power paths, UPS systems, HVAC, fire suppression and access controls
- Proficient in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings
- Skilled in managing remote resources with a focus on quality deliverables.
